I served my Curacy within the Winchcombe Team and post curacy I remained within the Winchcombe Team.
Having been a Wakefield ordinand in 2004 and having served my curacy in the Mirfield Team Parish I have since been on my travels serving as a school chaplain, vicar of a rural multi parish benefice, rector of an urban civic parish church and since 2023 in Cathedral ministry first at Canterbury and now latterly part of the team at one of our three Cathedrals in this unique diocese.

As the husband of an ordinand, I strongly believe there must be considerably more clarity, accountability, and transparency in the discernment, vocation, and curacy processes which are often opaque and complex to navigate.
After returning to the church of my youth, I spent a year at Cuddesdon before being priested and serving a curacy at Pershore Abbey in Worcestershire.

My ministry journey has taken me from Careforce volunteer in Ayr, Scotland, to Lay Minister and Youth and Community Development Worker in Emmanuel church Southall, to curacy in rural Birmingham, to chaplaincy at City YMCA London and interfaith education in Southall.
Vocations are rising in some areas, but too many dioceses struggle to resource curacy posts or sustain stipendiary ministry.
I served my curacy with a wonderful TI, Revd Canon David Glover at Holy Trinity, Washington.
During my curacy, monthly prayer ministry, healing services, Café Church and Blue Christmas were established across both parishes, creating spaces for prayer, fellowship and outreach.
I am a self-supporting minister, serving my curacy on a part-time basis in the Buckingham Diocese and I am married with 3 young children.

I was ordained in Lichfield Diocese in 2007, serving my curacy in Stone, Staffs.
Previously I served my curacy in the Weighton Wold Benefice (2021-25), a five-church rural benefice in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
From 1999-2015 I worked in the Diocese of Hereford serving my curacy in Ledbury Team Ministry, later moving to Tenbury Team Ministry as a Team Vicar and then Team Rector.

After completing my curacy at St Paul’s, Bradford, I served as Priest-in-Charge of Woodhouse Close Church and Associate Minister at Bishop Auckland Parish Church, County Durham.

After serving as a pastoral assistant in London, I trained for ordination, served my curacy in Southsea, and spent ten years as Vicar of a large UPA parish in Portsmouth.
I am currently serving my curacy in the wonderful parishes of Fremington, Westleigh and Instow, on the North Devon coast, a position which brings me great joy every day.
These two churches provided the experience of a wonderful breadth of Anglican worship, from traditional to charismatic evangelical styles, a perfect preparation for my curacy here in North Devon.

Ordained Deacon by the Bishop of Hull in York Minster in June 2005 and Priest by the Bishop of Whitby in July 2006, I served my curacy in the Parish of The Ascension in Middlesbrough.

CURACY
I’ve experienced two placements in the Anglo Catholic tradition (one alongside the Canon Precentor at Leicester Cathedral as an ordinand) and moved from a Charismatic Evangelical curacy to an incumbency of central tradition.
I was ordained in 2010, serving my curacy in SW London.
I am currently in the final year of my curacy at St Stephen’s, Twickenham, prior to which I completed an MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission, specialising in Systematic Theology.
Following three years at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford, I returned to Chichester Diocese to serve a curacy in South Crawley Team Ministry, a parish of 34,000 with large areas of deprivation.
During this time I developed my call to Rural Ministry and also wanting to be closer to both my family and Caroline’s family as well as avoiding the M25, so at the end of my curacy applied to be the new Rector at Earsham, and moved back to Norwich Diocese in 2014.

After being called to ordination I trained at Trinity College in Bristol and then served my curacy in the Parish of St Anne’s, Shevington in the Diocese of Blackburn from 2012.
It was a joy when we felt God call us back here with a young family to serve in this place, rich with a history of prayer, faith and deep spirituality. Having served in the Diocesan Mission and Ministry team, completed my curacy at Holy Cross, Fenham, and served on the team at St Thomas’, I have deep gratitude for the people of this Diocese who have supported and shaped me. I have shared in congregational life here, experiencing seasons of real difficulty as well as growth.
In 2013 I was ordained and served my curacy at St Peter’s Church in Yateley, before moving to Bournemouth to be vicar at St John’s and St Mike’s in 2017.

I served my curacy in bustling Clapham Junction just one parish south of the river and now service in the most southerly parish in the diocese, so far south of the M25 that it’s as close to the south coast as it is to the Thames.
I was ordained into the Rochester Diocese in 2007 and served my curacy at Christ Church, Chislehurst, where I completed my first illuminating term on Diocesan Synod.
My wife Kate and I have raised our three daughters in Dunston, Gateshead (during curacy in Blaydon and Swalwell) and Spennymoor, County Durham.

Curacy St James’ Shirley, Southampton, Winchester Diocese
I was ordained in 2017 and served my curacy in the West Worcester Rural team before starting my current role as the Vicar of Holy Trinity in North Malvern and St James’ in West Malvern.
I served my curacy in Birmingham Diocese across contrasting contexts: a Gas Street church revitalisation on an outer estate, a traditional suburban parish, a civic town-centre church and a smaller parish shaped by a more catholic spirituality.
Curate across 4 Churches in Runcorn in a pioneering Curacy, after training at the Queens Foundation Youth, Children & Families Minister for 8 years prior to Ordination Lived & worked in the Diocese of Guildford, York & Norwich prior to moving to Chester Diocese for my Curacy Queer member of Clergy, and chaplain to local HIV & Pride Charity organisations.
After curacy I spent 11 years as Chaplain at MOD Corsham, and alongside this I was the Diocesan Disability Adviser as a volunteer and more recently as DSS staff.
I also accompany those transitioning into new roles post curacy and as newly appointed Area Deans through the provision of training across the eastern region diocese My ministry has consistently brought together pastoral attentiveness, My ministry has consistently brought together pastoral attentiveness, practical experience, and a commitment to justice.
Ministry: After a city centre curacy in Derby, I felt called to serve the rural church.
I served my curacy in Cockermouth and first incumbency in Stanwix, Carlisle.
I subsequently served my curacy within the Crediton Mission Community, a large, multi-parish rural benefice in Exeter Diocese.
Alongside my curacy, I am undertaking postgraduate study reflecting on mission, preaching, and the parish, as well as much more.
2003 – Ordained and served my curacy at St Peter’s, Notting Hill in London Diocese 2007 – Licensed to a benefice in Sittingbourne (Canterbury Diocese) while my primary focus was caring for my two young daughters.

Much of my curacy so far has focused on the outreach and discipleship of students and formation of younger leaders.
Key Issues: ❖ Safeguarding and Spiritual abuse: Great work has been done but there is always room for more – especially regarding this hard to define yet incredibly damaging aspect of safeguarding that the Church needs to grapple with. ❖ Review of Curacy Training: As the ordinand recruitment process has been updated I believe we need to review the curacy process.
I left Trinity College Bristol in 2022 and completed my curacy in Derby, where I had the opportunity to work with very different traditions and church models within the Church of England.
In 2021, as my husband began his curacy, we moved to the Coopers Edge estate in Gloucester to establish a new worshipping community.
