I bring this legal and canonical knowledge to my ministry and Diocesan work, seeking to use it to ensure that documents and programmes work properly for the good of all.
General Synod involves a considerable amount of canonical, ecclesiastical and governance work, and I have a strong working knowledge of policy and procedure enabling me to participate fully in the necessary discussions, in order to find ways of making this huge and complex institution to function!
I am eager to promote training which is creative, flexible, theologically rigorous, and of the highest quality in preparing clergy and laity for a lifetime of ministry. The next Synod may also be asked to make significant canonical, liturgical and pastoral decisions about marriage and sexuality.
I accept the Canonical understanding of marriage as a sacrament.
