What I bring to the General Synod Having a long experience in the secular world, especially working with University students, where I had to demonstrate Christ through my work and attitude, I bring a unique understanding of youth culture.
In the secular world:
Equally, living in the impersonal, secular world as a young neurodiverse woman, I find refuge in the close community of parish life, and making that community accessible to others, regardless of socio-economic background, race, or disability is of the highest importance to me.
Safeguarding As a former teacher, safeguarding has been part of the heartbeat of my life, recognising, in real-time, how slow the Church has been to catch up with the secular world, with catastrophic results.
The secular world looks on horrified that our house is not in order.
I believe we should be a church which reflects the God who calls us to follow Him rather than a church that calls God to follow the ethics of the secular world which constantly changes.
