A commitment to revitalisation I don’t believe some churches should just keep getting bigger and bigger by attracting Christians from surrounding parishes, instead, I think it is the responsibility of larger churches to resource and give sacrificially to enable other local parishes to thrive.
I want to advocate for funding that enables sustainable parish revitalisation, mission and service.
Since 2022 I have served as Curate-in-Charge, and now Priest-in-Charge, of Christ Church Summerfield, where I have led a revitalisation plant.
I now serve as Vicar of St Mark's, Woodthorpe, where we are seeking renewal through a more traditional parish revitalisation model.
I want to continue to play a part in working towards a solution that sees the Church of England flourishing - helping ensure a sustainable platform at the heart of the Church of England from which we can continue to serve our nation through evangelism, mission and church revitalisation, and so pass on the legacy of the faith we have inherited to future generations.

Evangelism, Church Growth, and Revitalisation
Good data can help us understand those communities better, identify where ministry is bearing fruit and make wiser decisions about church planting and revitalisation.
From 2017-2025 I was also Priest in Charge of our first revitalisation project at St Clement’s Boscombe, a grade-one listed building in the heart of Bournemouth’s poorest community.

I have also served as a Mission Enabler, overseeing church planting and the revitalisation of parishes in Newham.
I was invited to contribute to conversations about church revitalisation, particularly in relation to rural benefices, and was surprised to find myself the only lay person in that conversation.
I am particularly interested in mission and church revitalisation, rural ministry, theological literacy of our congregations, communication in a new era, and the priorities we set for the use of Church resources.
I'm 40, married to Becky, with two children, Elliot (8) and Isaac (6), and I'm beginning my ninth year in ministry: five as Associate Minister in a church revitalisation in Doncaster, which turned from an ageing, shrinking congregation into a younger, growing one, moving from paying a quarter of its parish share to nearly the full amount.

In July 2023 I successfully moved an amendment to the Revitalisation of the Parish System Motion, by which General Synod affirmed the parish system as “the central component of the mixed ecology”.
I have valued the challenges and joys of helping churches pursue this calling through planting, grafting and revitalisation.
By voting for me, you are voting for a young representative who does not simply care about numerical growth, but one who supports a movement of revitalisation, a movement of hope.
We are currently supporting St Nicholas Bradfield and are in the process of sending some people from Wadsley to join them as part of a revitalisation project.
I remain committed to parish ministry, but also to the part resource churches and revitalisation has to play in the renewal of the Church.

Revitalisation and Young People
How do we equip our churches for renewal and revitalisation?
At present, I lead St Saviour's Church Nottingham, a church revitalisation in the south of Nottingham, in the socially, ethnically and economically diverse area of the Meadows.
I have become increasingly convinced that church planting and revitalisation need to be central to the future of the Church of England.
• Experience of church growth, planting and revitalisation
As someone who is recently out of residential ordination training, I would welcome the opportunity to input into discussions about theological education in the Church of England in order to help ensure that the strengths of residential training are retained even if the future of theological education has to look different. Local Mission My current role is one that combines parish priest and church planter into a church revitalisation role.
Stand for unity and the revitalisation of the Church
The team I lead is responsible for implementing the diocese’s vision and strategy, raising and supporting lay and ordained vocations, training of our curates and readers, clergy wellbeing and their continued ministerial development, parish vision planning, revitalisation, mission, evangelism, Children, Youth and Families support and training, and the development of new worshipping communities from new services to large church plants.
I served my curacy in Birmingham Diocese across contrasting contexts: a Gas Street church revitalisation on an outer estate, a traditional suburban parish, a civic town-centre church and a smaller parish shaped by a more catholic spirituality.
On the good side of things, I have found potential for revitalisation in the ideas of the Save the Parish ‘STP’ network, and therefore I whole-heartedly encourage you to give your top preferences to those candidates who indicate support for STP.
Whether your language be ‘cure of souls’ or ‘church revitalisation’ we need to get back to what the church is meant to be and help make disciples for eternity.

Through revitalisation, our church has grown into a diverse, intergenerational community of people from different backgrounds, nationalities, abilities and incomes.
Currently my wife and I are supporting, alongside a number of younger families, a local church revitalisation with the aim of injecting new life into a parish church where many of its long-standing (and faithfully serving) members are struggling with the effects of advancing years.
They need to find renewal, revitalisation, and, only, if absolutely necessary, closure.
As with St Mary’s Wavertree, one of the Churches I help to lead, the process of Revitalisation needs to be highly relational, collaborative and shaped by and for the people involved.
I am currently Vicar of St James in the City, one of our diocesan resource Churches, and priest-in-charge at St Mary’s Wavertree, our first revitalisation.
I want Synod to support clergy and lay leaders well, steward resources wisely, and encourage church planting and revitalisation, particularly in deprived and under-resourced communities.
