Looking ahead to the next generation
The decisions made in the next quinquennium of General Synod may well set the course of our church for the next generation or more, and accordingly these elections are of great importance.

We need to take action to enable today’s children and young people to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus, to grow deep roots of faith grounded in Scripture and church community, and to build up leaders who can shepherd the next generation.
We need to call and form the next generation of clergy and lay leaders, and to train them for confident, outward-facing ministry.
The Church of England faces serious challenges: - financial pressures, safeguarding, clergy wellbeing, disagreement over theology, caring for God’s creation and the need to reach the next generation of worshippers.
I therefore want not simply to defend the parish system, but to renew, resource and strengthen it for the next generation.
Imagine if Synod helped deliver to the next generation: ✓ A Church confident in Jesus Christ and the Gospel. ✓ Well-equipped and biblically grounded clergy and lay leaders. ✓ Young people and younger families are welcomed, discipled and equipped to lead. ✓ Stronger intercultural congregations that reflect the communities we serve. ✓ Safe churches where children and vulnerable adults are protected, valued and supported. ✓ Help to manage buildings

If elected to General Synod, I would seek to represent work amongst younger people so the that gospel is passed on to the next generation.
