Team Vicar/House for Duty, Incumbent of the Oak
Licensed as a Team Vicar, in my current post as House for Duty, I am the incumbent of the Oak Hill Parishes, responsible for Worship, mission and outreach in Alderton, Dumbleton, Gt Washbourne and Wormington.
Since June this year I have been serving as a house for duty priest in Burnley, covering vacancies, sickness, holidays and sabbaticals in East Lancashire and beyond.
With the exception of one year’s House for Duty at St Mary’s Parish Church, Twickenham, I have served in rural ministry throughout and, with both Bishop Grahams’ PTO I have presided and preached in many village churches in South Norfolk.
If we are to inspire new vocations, and support those already serving, we must care for those who often give sacrificially, including full-time, part-time, house for duty, self-supporting, retired clergy and chaplains.
In the past 5 years our Benefice Ministry Team, like many others across the country, has shrunk significantly - we’ve lost our House for Duty, an Associate Priest and a Lay Reader.
