I’d aim to speak up for all our clergy in General Synod, stipendiary and non-stipendiary, parish based and workplace based and also those involved in various forms of Fresh Expression of Church and pioneering.
In my current role, I seek to support and encourage local ministry in parish, fresh expression, school, chaplaincy, BMO and wherever the good news of God’s love is being shared.
After that I became Treasurer of a ‘new monastic’ Fresh Expression working under a Bishop’s Mission Order in Birmingham, while at the same time serving as a Member of Council for an Anglican Religious Community in Woking, Surrey.
We ran a fresh expression of church reaching out to people struggling with homelessness, addiction issues, mental health struggles and other areas of need.
However, in my twenties, I also attended local ecumenical partnerships and fresh expression churches, both urban and rural.
I worship at St Bride's, Toxteth and have served for eighteen years as a Lay Minister with Open Table Liverpool, a Fresh Expression of Church for LGBTQIA+ people, friends and families.
I also founded and lead a fresh expression for people with learning disabilities called LIGHT.
Post ordination, I combined full-time rural parish ministry in Gloucester Diocese, (looking after 5 churches and a fresh expression of church across six villages), alongside part-time work as a theological educator with Ripon College Cuddesdon in their regional training courses in Gloucester and Monmouth Dioceses.
