Since then I have helped St Mary's achieve the A Rocha Eco Church Silver Award, and we are now going for Gold, with our renewable energy project.

Climate change St Mary’s Great Baddow was awarded Eco Church Silver status this year.
We are a transformed parish, silver eco church, home groups, a sending parish for vocations and excited to expand further missionally into the town in 2027.
PCC are currently working through Eco church for all our churches, so will follow all the advice that is given.
Our PCC has signed up to Inclusive Church and A Rocha Eco-Church, for which we received our Silver award in May 2025.
All four of my churches have Bronze Eco Church Awards and we strive to challenge our parishes to be more aware of the plight of the environment, and to be proactive in our daily choices.

Churches which are Intergenerational, Intercultural and Eco-Church At St George’s we seek to be an intergenerational church so here is a picture of two members of my church who recently preached with me.
Despite being an inner-city profile church, we achieved our Eco Church Gold in 2025 because motivated by scripture we have woven ecological sustainability into our understanding of all we do.
Earlier this year I led an initiative to draw Synod representatives into conversation with the Diocesan Eco Church Network, in a model of consultation I hope to build on in the years ahead.

I long for the Church to care for all creation as part of mission and discipleship: I have led creative Eco Church projects within my own church communities and have organised Diocesan Eco Church conferences to encourage and equip greater engagement within both our rural and urban congregations.
My work with A Rocha and Eco Church has highlighted how much of a difference we can make through grassroots efforts to engage young people, to address the growing climate crisis that affects our Suffolk farms, and to foster good stewardship of our churchyards.

We have been a silver eco church since 2019 and are now working towards gold.
Church engagement: Member of the Church Choir, PCC, HR committee, co-ordinator of Pret a Manger surplus food distribution, Volunteer for Children’s Holiday Club, Eco Church Group and Deanery Synod.

Eco church initiatives can align institutional practices and individual behaviour in caring for God’s earth and our local church is committed to this.

We are very much part of being an Eco Church and have created two very important green spaces which are having a positive impact on the local eco system.
As a Church locally, we are working towards the Eco-Church status and I am the Eco-Church Rep.

Having led one parish to an A Rocha Gold Eco Church award and another to Silver, I bring practical experience and knowledge in delivering environmental transformation at parish level.
This background has given me a longstanding awareness of environmental issues and an appreciation of the work the Church is doing in this area, including through Eco Church awards and the encouragement of more sustainable practice within parishes.
